I am currently a Post-doctoral Democracy Fellow at the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the Harvard Kennedy School. In September 2013, I will join the faculty of Colby College as an Assistant Professor of Government. I am completing my Ph.D. in political science from the University of California, Berkeley. I also earned an M.P.P. from Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy in 2008 and a B.A. from Carleton College. My research and teaching interests include comparative politics, interest representation in the policymaking process, and the quality of democratic institutions, with a regional focus on Latin America. My current research projects examine the role of popular participation in the design and implementation of public policy.
